Hey, runnin' around, playin' for pay
A'takin' all the hard knocks in a single day, man;
Interestin' what you'll do for a buck
An' only one false step, an' you're outta luck, man;
The cheer of the crowd, a slap on the back
An' then you're flat on your back, an' the crowd's a'moanin',
Well ya gotta forget what's happenin' now
Because the hell of it is you're lyin' there a'groanin'---
So, several times a day, I like to think of her,
There were other girls, that couldn't make me stay;
But knowin, when the Sun goes down
There'll be interplay, oh such sweet interplay...
Hit 'em hard, hit 'em low,
I'm wondrin' Does every win have to put 'em down, man,
Is it the same in every game
Or do we just have to show ourselves We're in town, man?!
That's an angry crowd 'cause we didn't win
And from their point of view that's the greatest sin man,
Six minutes left and they're filin' out
An' we're all alone, where's the band?--- Oh, they've flown!
So, several times a day, I like to think of her,
There were other girls, that couldn't make me stay;
But knowin, when the Sun goes down
There'll be interplay, oh such sweet interplay...
That helps make my day.
